DOES THE NEW SHOE FIT? When old shoes and new shoes clash in the workplace.
When longer-tenured workers begin to feel like the old forgotten shoes in the closet, hiring managers can be blamed for labeling new talent as a panacea. But some studies suggest that socially distinct newcomers, while making us feel uncomfortable, can result in better overall team performance.

Formal or familiar - which communication style should candidates use?
There is no denying that corporate America has grown more casual. From informal dress codes to casual Friday, what used to be a commonly “Buttoned Up” society has now gone button-down, button-fly and button-less. Amidst the dressing down trend, I am noticing a similar shift in how candidates approach their employment inquiries with an informality and a familiarity of speech that I usually reserve for my friends and family.
