Requirements and Basic Qualifications
Create a Basic Qualification question
From the Tools menu located in the left frame of the BrightMove screen, select the option “Basic Qualifications”. The “Manage Basic Qualifications” screen should be displayed. There are four parts of the screen. The first provides a field in which to type the question. The second asks what type of question it is (e.g. multiple choice, essay). Select what type of question it will be from the drop down menu.
Next, check the box that says “require correct answer” if each applicant must answer question correctly to be eligible for consideration for the position. Leave the box unchecked if you would like to see an answer, but it does not have to be correct.
The last option on the screen says “show on portal.” If you this option is selected, every single applicant will see this question and have to answer it.
Once you have typed the question and made the appropriate choices as far as question type and showing it on the company portal, click on the “Submit” button. You will now see the View Applicant Basic Qualification screen.
Select the “Add Answer” link in order to add answers to your question. Be sure to check the “correct” box next to the correct answer so that when the applicant answers it correctly he or she will get credit for it. The “order” field allows you to put the answers in any order you would like. Number the first answer to be displayed as “1”, the second “2”, and so on.
Setting a Basic Qualification for a single job
There are two steps to complete. First, follow the instructions above to create a question, making sure not to select the “Show on Portal” option. Once you have created the question, go to the Requirement Profile Page for which you want the question to be asked.
From the Options menu, select “Basic Qualifications”. The Manage Basic Qualifications screen will be displayed. From the drop down menu of available questions, select the one to be associated with this job. Click on the blue “Submit” key just under the list of available questions. You will now see that question in the “requirement basic Qualifications” section of the screen. Repeat this process until all of the questions that you would like to associate with this job have been added.
Setting Basic Qualifications for all jobs
When you create the basic qualification question, be sure to check the option that says “Show on Portal”. Every single applicant who views your career web page will now see the question.
Where do candidates see the basic qualification questions?
If the question is marked “Show on portal” they will see it after the personal questions (name, address, etc) on your career portal page. If the question is only associated with a specific job, they will see the question once they apply specifically for that position.
Where do I see the answers to the basic qualifications questions?
You will see the questions and answers in the “Attachments” section of the applicant profile page. They are attached in a PDF document so that the answers may not be changed.
What happens if an applicant does not answer a basic qualification question correctly?
If the answer is marked as “required correct”, the applicant will not be allowed to continue with the application process. They will be allowed to apply for other positions as long as the Basic Qualification question was only associated with a single job.
