Applicant Searching

By Skill Set or Key Word

This type of search may be referred to as keyword search, skill search, or skill set search. To perform a search by skill set or key word, click the “plus” to the left of the “Applicant” option on the left side tool bar. From the expanded Applicant menu select “Search”. The Applicant Search screen will be displayed.

Next, select either ‘resume’ or ‘attachments’ from the drop down search menu. To decide which place to look for a skill set, think about where you store that type of information about each applicant. In the “For” field, enter the single search term or string of search terms you would like to find in the activities in your BrightMove database. You may adjust your search result display size by choosing a new number from the “Page Size” drop down box, and also adjust your Search screen sort by choosing a new option from the “Sort by” menu. If you are looking for a string of terms, remember to select the “and” option from the algorithm section of the search screen. If you are looking for just one term that there are multiple spellings for or that could have been entered in more than one way then select the “or” option from your algorithm section of the search screen. You may also select one folder to search in if desired by selecting it on the drop down menu of folders on your search screen.

Once you are satisfied with your search terms and the results options, click the “Submit” key at the bottom of the search box. The search results will be displayed in a new screen.

In the “For” field, enter the entire last name you are searching for, or part of the name along with the % sign if you are not sure how to spell the last name you are looking for (e.g. if you are looking for Bob Hope, type in Hope, or h%, ho%, hop%, %op, %op%, etc). You may adjust your search result display size by choosing a new number from the “Page Size” drop down box, and also adjust your Search screen sort by choosing a new option from the “Sort by” menu.

Once you are satisfied with your search terms and results options, click the “Submit” key at the bottom of the search box. The search results will be displayed in a new screen.
