We started our staffing company almost a decade ago. The Y2K and Internet bubble had already burst. We were trying to ride the magic carpet of technical staffing that had since disappeared. As a result, it became a trend for companies to invest in their people again. They were more interested in full time employees rather than contractors. Bill rates plummeted and the number of available job orders slowly declined. At the same time, offshore resource pools and smaller vendor lists made times even tougher, especially for the local staffing shop. Many of our colleagues and associates closed the doors, but we decided to capitalize on our knowledge of the industry and consequently, the creation of the Brightmove Applicant Tracking System began.
It is amazing to me that almost ten years later we are still working in an industry that is interesting, dynamic, and growing. As companies are downsizing, the number of applicants for active job orders is growing so rapidly that staffing companies with inadequate or non-existent software solutions are alarmed at the holes in their existing processes. Flaws in process and solutions are being magnified and these staffing companies are looking for answers. More importantly, they are looking for a solution.
